TOUCHDOWN!

Thirteen hours of traveling, a quick stop in Singapore, a few plane meals later - ten Australians arrive safely in Delhi.

A shower and power nap later, we checked out the local markets called ‘N’ block. The markets housed a few clothing, home-ware stores on the ground floor. And a labyrinth of restaurants and cafe’s above ground.

Fab - India was one of the larger stores -  they had two stores in N block markets - one sold homewares and manchester, and the other sold traditional and modern India fashion, with rich Indian textiles.

Spent quite a while in Fab India, creating an India appropriate (customs and weather) wardrobe. It was quite funny trying to work out the different style of Indian pants and tunics. We finally figured this out

Churidar  - baggy at the waist, and tapers in to be tight and gathered around the ankle.

Salwar - drawstring waist, and gathered at the hips. Baggy, loose fit.

We were treated to a lovely dinner, graciously prepared by Julie’s husband, David. I tried paneer for the first time. And the first of many butter chickens, naans and cokes to come!

Paneer!
